Peter D. Ekman, Ph.D., is Visiting Associate Professor at Elizabethtown College. He earned his Ph.D. in Finance at the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, and his M.B.A. and Bachelors degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned a CFA charter in 1999. Dr. Ekman has taught at Purdue University, Kansas State University, the American Institute of Business and Economics (AIBEc) in Moscow, Russia, and at the Central European University Business School. During his seven years in the Former Soviet Union, he also held visiting posts at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow and at the Stockholm School of Economics – Riga in Latvia. He wrote a weekly economics column for The Moscow Times – “Two Kopeks Worth” – and helped found the American Chamber of Commerce Annual Moscow MBA Case Competition. Prior to his international teaching career, Dr. Ekman was a currency arbitrageur at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and was a member of the Merc’s International Monetary Market (IMM) Division.
